BYD SEALION 7 Electric SUV Debuts in Europe: Key Features Explained

BYD has introduced the SEALION 7, a high-performance electric SUV, to the European market. Known for its electric vehicle innovations, BYD aims to cater to European customers with a versatile, spacious, and environmentally conscious family car.



The BYD SEALION 7 combines powerful performance with advanced battery technology, offering a range of up to 502 km (WLTP). Featuring BYD’s proprietary Blade Battery and Cell-to-Body integration, the vehicle delivers efficiency, safety, and exceptional driving dynamics.

Performance meets sustainability

The SEALION 7 is powered by BYD’s advanced electric platform, e-Platform 3.0, and is available in rear-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. With a combined output of up to 390 kW in its AWD models, the SUV achieves a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 4.5 seconds. The Blade Battery, known for its durability and safety, enhances energy density and range, while its cobalt-free lithium iron phosphate (LFP) construction ensures environmental responsibility.



Charging options include rapid DC charging at up to 230 kW for the top-tier Excellence AWD variant, enabling a 10%-80% charge in just 24 minutes.

Design with purpose

The SEALION 7 stands out with its bold, aerodynamic SUV design, created under the guidance of BYD’s design team. At 4,830 mm long, it offers a dynamic and athletic look, complete with LED lighting, flush door handles, and a fastback roofline. The interior is spacious, accommodating five adults comfortably with a flat rear floor for added legroom.



Cargo space is generous, featuring a 520-liter rear boot and an additional 58-liter front compartment. Premium features like a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and soundproof laminated glass create a refined and comfortable environment.

Advanced technology for drivers and passengers

The BYD SEALION 7 is equipped with a 15.6-inch rotatable infotainment screen, a digital instrument panel, and compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Excellence AWD models include a Head-Up Display for enhanced visibility.



The in-car experience is further enhanced with a 12-speaker audio system and voice control capabilities. Advanced safety features like adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, blind-spot detection, and 360-degree cameras ensure peace of mind.

The SEALION 7 will be available in three trims: Comfort, Design AWD, and Excellence AWD. Each version comes with features tailored to different needs, including heated seats, dual-zone climate control, and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology for external power use.
