Hyundai introduces the adventure-focused Inster Cross with rugged design, 17-inch wheels, and enhanced safety tech
Hyundai has revealed the Inster Cross, an off-road-focused version of its electric SUV, aimed at adventure lovers. It shares the same platform as the standard Inster but comes with exterior upgrades for a tougher look. Production is planned to begin in 2025 at Hyundai's factory in Korea.
The Inster Cross stands out with its more rugged design, featuring larger bumpers, added underbody protection, and a roof rack. It also includes black cladding around the body, along with 17-inch alloy wheels, enhancing its off-road appeal. A new color, Amazonas Green Matte, is exclusive to this variant, with other color options available in two-tone schemes with a black roof.
Despite its compact size, measuring 3,825mm in length, the Inster Cross has a bold presence. The interior features a grey and lime yellow color theme and is equipped with dual 10.25-inch screens for infotainment and driver information. The front seats have a bench-like design, while the rear seats can fold flat or split 50:50, allowing for more flexible cargo space, ranging from 280 to 351 liters.
The Inster Cross offers the same electric powertrain options as the standard model. Buyers can choose between two motors—producing either 95 hp or 113 hp—with battery options of 42 kWh or 49 kWh. The larger battery provides an impressive range of up to 360 km on a single charge, with fast charging capability from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes.
Like its sibling, the Inster Cross comes with Hyundai’s advanced driver assistance system (ADAS). This includes features like Highway Driving Assist, Smart Cruise Control, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, and Lane Centering, ensuring a safe and smooth driving experience.
